The most popular time to visit St Barts is the dry season, from December to April. From May to November, the rainy season brings quieter weeks and lower villa rates, but it overlaps with the Atlantic hurricane season, officially June 1 to November 30.
December to April: the dry season
December to April is the dry season, locally called winter, and the busiest time on the island, peaking over Christmas and New Year.
Book early for these weeks: villas fill up first, and holiday periods often require longer minimum stays. At Grand View in St Martin, for instance, the minimum stay is 12 nights over Christmas and New Year.
May to November: the rainy season
May to November is the rainy season, locally called summer, when villa rates move to low season: at Grand View in St Martin, for example, low season runs from April 15 to December 16.
Hurricane season
The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30. According to NOAA, activity peaks around September 10, and most of it falls between mid-August and mid-October.
