Terres-Basses is the westernmost peninsula of French St Martin (St Maarten), a residential area of large private estates between the Caribbean Sea and the Simpson Bay Lagoon. Grand View stands there on the lagoon shore, with six en-suite bedrooms for 12 guests and its own beach and dock.
Terres-Basses and the Simpson Bay Lagoon
The Simpson Bay Lagoon covers about 1,250 hectares and is shared by the French and Dutch sides of the island, the border running across its center. Terres-Basses lines its western shore.
On the sea side, the peninsula is known for its beaches, Baie Longue, Baie aux Prunes (Plum Bay) and Baie Rouge; under French law, all beaches in Saint-Martin are public. There is no public transport here: a car is needed to leave the neighborhood, and Grand View provides a golf cart on the estate.

Grand View rates for 2026
Rates are for the six bedrooms, in US dollars: $2,800 a night in low season (April 15 – December 16), $4,200 in high season (January 8 – April 14) and $12,400 for Christmas and New Year, plus 5% occupancy tax.
- Minimum stay: 5 nights in low season, 6 in high season, 12 over Christmas and New Year.
- Refundable damage deposit: USD 4,000.
